Mrs. Amber Furr
Principal/2nd-3rd teacher
I have been a member of St John for 11 years. My husband and I live in Hilliard with our two daughters. One graduated from Darby in 2024 and the other is a junior at Shekinah Christian School. My husband is the Property Manager at St. John. I come to St. John Dublin Lutheran School with 23 years of experience teaching in Hilliard City Schools. My favorite things about working with children are their sense of humor, excitement for learning, and discussing favorite books. My favorite bible verse is Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things though Him who strengthens me."

Ms. Kayla Brown
Kindergarten
I have taught for 13 years - 10 as a kindergarten teacher, 1 year of preschool and 2 as a substitute. I love helping kindergarteners learn new things and I love to see their joy in learning. They can have fun and be silly while still learning and growing so much! I absolutely love teaching kids how to read and introducing them to as many books as possible! My favorite bible verse is Isaiah 41:10: So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Ms. Cherie Yoder
First-Third Teacher
My name is Cherie Yoder and I live in Columbus with my cat, Bug. I enjoy making jewelry and being creative in my spare time. I love to work with kids because they are innovative and their minds are always going! I love to see the way they think and express themselves. There is never a shortage of creativity and inspiration when working with kids. My favorite bible verse is 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 – "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

Mrs. Rebecca Rhoden
Preschool Assistant Director
This is my third year as Assistant Director at St. John Christian Preschool. I have a degree in Elementary Education from Concordia University, Chicago, and taught for 8 years before staying home with our two daughters. My husband and I moved to Plain City with our daughters 5 years ago and became members of St. John Lutheran Church. My favorite thing about working at St. John is seeing the children’s excitement for school and interacting with the families that come through our doors. A verse that has been close to my heart is Joshua 1:9, “Be strong and courageous, do not be terrified for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
